Zach's mommy here, updating my baby's blog.
I can't believe it: my little boy is one! Instead of the tiny soft baby that used
to sleepily wrap himself around my hand after eating, I now have a
chatty, mischievous little boy that zooms around the house at lightening
speeds. It is a complete mystery to me how he has changed so much in
just one little, but fast, year.

We based the theme for the party on one of Zach's favourite books,
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
by Eric Carle. I happened to stumble on some Very Hungry
Caterpillar ideas on Pinterest. I bought Hungry Caterpillar themed tablecloth, dinner plates, cups and dinner napkins. To avoid
themed-party-ware-overkill, I paired them with plain cake napkins, utensils, cake plates, and extra cups in primary colors similar to the colours in the book

Best cake ever. Strawberry with pineapple filling flavored on one layer. Other layer plain vanilla. |
Zachary's smash cake was a sugar free carrot cake flavor with sugar free cool whip frosting.

He enjoyed it. |

So did his friends. LOL |
I made this caterpillar with some Chinese lanterns, some card stock, and two purple pipe cleaners.
Zachary had a special party guest; Bubbles the clown!
